AMBASSADOR OF MALAYSIA PAYS COURTESY CALL ON CHAIRMAN OF THE SENATE

Ambassador Raja Nazrin Aznam called on Senator Pat Moylan, Cathaoirleach Sheanad Éireann (Chairman of the Senate of Ireland) on Wednesday, 18 February 2009 accompanied by Mr. Sofian A. Karim, First Secretary of the Embassy.  During the half-hour meeting at Leinster House, a number of issues were discussed including the Middle East Peace Process, issues affecting Malaysians residing in Ireland as well as the current economic challenges.  Raja Nazrin also handed a written copy of the special resolution on Gaza by the Malaysian Parliament that had been verbally conveyed on 20 January 2009 and explained Malaysia’s stand on the issue.  The Cathaoirleach took the opportunity to brief the Ambassador on the composition and constitutional position of Sheanad Éireann.
