His Excellency Dato’ Ramli Naam, Malaysian Ambassador to Ireland attended a Breakfast Meeting organized by Ireland Malaysian Association (IMA) on 24 February 2012 at Westin Hotel Dublin. The meeting was attended by executive members of IMA, representatives from business communities and government agencies, and academicians.
H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Ramli Naam is the Honorary Patron of the IMA. In his remarks, Ambassador emphasised that Malaysian Government is committed to delivering a business friendly environment for investors from Ireland. He also pledged to work closely with local businesses, potential investors and educational organisations and share their experiences in doing business in Malaysia.
This message was corroborated by two of Irish leading exporters to Malaysia, Mr. Niall Norton, CEO of Openet Global and winner of the 2011 Irish Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and International Category awards, and Dr. Terry McWade, Deputy CEO of Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
The Ireland Malaysia Association was formally established in May 2011. Among the objectives of IMA are to support bilateral relations between Ireland and Malaysia through trade, education and culture, and to provide networking opportunities for members in the form of business briefings, delegation visits, seminars and informal events.
