Ambassador received earlier today at the Chancery a courtesy call from the Polis Diraja Malaysia ( Royal Malaysia Police ) delegation that is on a weeklong visit to Dublin to interrogate Malaysian detainees currently serving sentences for illicit drugs trafficking into Ireland. Both sides also discussed potential security collaboration between Malaysia and Ireland. The Embassy strongly advises all Malaysians travelling to Ireland to ensure strict adherence to local laws and regulations. Those carrying items for other people should also know what they are transporting so as to avoid carrying illegal items into Ireland.
