COURTESY CALL ON SECRETARY GENERAL, DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS, IRELAND (DFA), 9 APRIL 2009

Ambassador Raja Nazrin Aznam, accompanied by Mr. Sofian A. Karim, First Secretary of the Embassy, called on Ambassador David Cooney, Secretary General of DFA on 9 April 2009.  Ambassador Cooney was appointed as Secretary General in January 2009 following the retirement of his predecessor.  During the one hour meeting, Ambassador Raja Nazrin and the Secretary General discussed a broad range of of issues relating to Malaysia – Ireland bilateral relations, the state of the world economy and global as well as regional political developments.  Ambassador Raja Nazrin also handed a written copy of the special resolution on Gaza by the Malaysian Parliament to the Secretary General at the  meeting and explained Malaysia’s views on the issue.
