On 24 November 2009, H.E. Raja Dato’ Nazrin Aznam, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ireland chaired a meeting of the Establishment of Secretariat of Rakan Muda, Ireland at Meeting Room, 4th Floor, Embassy of Malaysia , Shelbourne House, Dublin .
The main objective to establish the Rakan Muda programme is to monitor and organise activities of Malaysian students in their involvement with the Irish social community. Rakan Muda activities will be monitored by the Malaysian Students Department (MSD).
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Logan Raju, former Mayor of Blackrock, Mr. Suleiman Abdulahi, Vice Chairman, Horn of Africa People’s Aid (HAPA), Malaysian student representatives from various universities in Dublin, Tuan Hj Kamis Mahawi, Director of MARA Ireland, Ms. Afidah Arshad, First Secretary (Education and Training) JPA, Mr. Kamarolzaman Abd. Rahman, Attaché (Education) and Mr. Mohammad Abu Bakar, Third Secretary (Administration).
