LAUNCHING OF BRAIN GAIN MALAYSIA PROGRAMME IN IRELAND
Brain Gain Malaysia (BGM) is a programme spearheaded by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI) and was launched on 4 December 2006. The main objective of BGM, is to fast-track Malaysia's transition to an innovation-led economy, by leveraging the talent pool of Malaysian Diaspora and/or foreign Researchers, scientist, Engineers and Technopreneurs (RSETs) residing abroad through incentive offerings for mutual benefit.
The Embassy of Malaysia Ireland as a marketing partner launched the Brain Gain Malaysia Programme in Ireland on 28 August 2010 which took place at Malaysia Hall, Dublin. The launching ceremony was officiated by Ms. Zurina Ahmad Tejuddin, Charge d’ Affaires a.i and was attended by almost 150 Malaysian students and professionals.
In conjunction with the Ramadhan month, the Embassy of Malaysia in collaboration with Malaysian Students Department organised a Ramadhan Bazaar on the sidelines of the event. A Negara-ku singing and flag raising was also held during the event to commemorate the 53rd Merdeka Day celebration.
