Her Excellency Ambassador Siti Hajjar Adnin presented her Letter of Credence and Letter of Recall of her predecessor to President Michael Higgins, the President of Ireland at the Áras an Uachtaráin (official residence of the President) on 7 April 2017.
Ambassador Siti Hajjar, together with the Ambassador of Ethiopia and Ambassador of Tanzania were escorted to the official residence from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ireland (DFAT) by the Escort of Honour from the 2nd Cavalry Squadron, Cathal Brugha Barracks of the Irish Army. Upon arrival at the Residence, the Ambassadors were received by the ADC of the President and were invited to sign the Visitor’s Book before the commencement of the ceremony.
Following her presentation of credentials, the Ambassador was led to a separate room where she and the President, with accompanying officials from the Irish side had a brief Tête-á-tête session. She was then ushered outside of the Residence to observe the playing of Negaraku by the Army No. 1 Band, Cathal Brugha Barracks. This was followed by the inspection of the Guard of Honour by the Ambassador provided by the Air Corps, Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel.
Since the establishment of the Embassy of Malaysia in Dublin, Ambassador Siti Hajjar is the 6th Ambassador of Malaysia to Ireland.
