H.E Dato’ Ramli Naam, Ambassador of Malaysia to Ireland has officially presented his Letter of Credence to the President of Ireland, Mrs. Mary McAleese, at the Presidential Palace on 13 September 2011. He was accompanied to the ceremony by his wife, Datin Nor Azizah Nawi and the First Secretary of the Embassy, Ms. Zurina Ahmad Tejuddin. Also presenting their Credentials were the new Ambassadors of Spain, Germany and Nigeria.
In his brief remarks during the Presentation of Credentials, the Ambassador conveyed the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong’s warmest felicitations and best wishes to the President and the people of Ireland. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the bilateral relations between both countries would further develop during his tenure in Ireland.
The President, in her response, indicated that she was pleased with the good and warm bilateral relations between Ireland and Malaysia especially in the field of education and hoped the relations could be further enhanced in other areas.
Once the presentations of credentials by all the Ambassadors have completed, the President with her officials joined the Ambassadors, spouses and accompanying protocol officers for refreshments.
After the refreshments, the Ambassador inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by members of the Irish Army before bidding farewell to the President.
