Visit to Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT)
Ambassador Dato' Syed Sultan Idris undertook a one-day working visit to Dundulk on Friday, 22 April 2016. Dundalk is situated in County Louth, an hour's drive from Dublin. In Dundalk, Ambassador visited the Institute of Technology (DkIT). Ambassador was given a briefing on the background of the institute by its President, Ms. Ann Campbell.
Ambassador also had the opportunity to meet with more than 150 Malaysian students studying at the Institute. Ambassador in his speech called on the students to give their 100 per cent in their studies but at the same time to take the opportunity to interact with others and learn the local culture. The students were very happy for the opportunity to meet with the Ambassador and to exchange views with him
Visit Dundalk Muslim Community
Ambassador Dato' Syed Sultan Idris also took the opportunity to pay a visit to the Muslim community in Dundalk which totals to around 500 Muslims. A site tour to the mosque under construction was also undertaken which was followed by a luncheon hosted by the community.
