Required Documents for Single-Entry Visa (SEV) Application (For Tourism/Social Visit):
- Completed and signed Visa Application Form (IM.47).
- Applicant’s original passport (valid for at least six months) and a photocopy of the particulars/first page.
- A copy of the applicant’s Permanent Resident card or National ID.
- One (1) recent passport-size photograph (2x2 inches).
- A ORIGINAL copy of the confirmed flight itinerary, including arrival and departure dates (duly stamped by the Travel Agency).
- A ORIGINAL copy of the hotel reservation (duly stamped by the Travel Agency) or proof of accommodation in Malaysia (a letter by the host/organiser confirming the accommodation is accepted).
- A copy of the organizer’s invitation letter (if any).
Fees:
The visa processing fee is IQD7,000 per person, payable in cash to the Embassy of Malaysia in Baghdad.
Short-term visits (social visit/tourism):
Iraqi passport holders do not require a visa for stays of up to 30 days.
Longer stays (up to 60 days):
For visits exceeding 30 days and up to a maximum of 60 days, the Embassy of Malaysia in Baghdad is authorised to process a Single-Entry Visa (SEV) for tourism and social visit purposes only.
Important Notes
Visa-free entry:
Iraqi passport holders do not need a visa for short-term visits to Malaysia of up to 30 days.
Stays up to 60 days:
For tourism or social visits of more than 30 days and up to 60 days, a Single-Entry Visa (SEV) may be applied for at the Embassy of Malaysia in Baghdad.
When to apply:
SEV applications must be submitted at least two weeks before the intended travel date.
Appointment required:
An appointment is mandatory for SEV applications. Please email: consular.bgw@kln.gov.my to arrange an appointment.
Processing time:
Visa processing normally takes 3 working days, provided all required documents are submitted in full.
Entry conditions:
Entry into Malaysia is subject to immigration clearance at the point of entry. A visa does not guarantee entry.
Incomplete applications:
Incomplete applications or failure to meet the requirements may result in delays, for which the Embassy cannot be held responsible.
