On 9 November 2024, the Malaysian High Commission in Kenya, along with three ASEAN diplomatic missions, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines, hosted ASEAN Food Festival at Nairobi’s popular shopping complex, Village Market. Drawing over 3,000 visitors, the event showcased ASEAN's rich cultural diversity through popular dishes like Malaysia's nasi lemak, Indonesia’s bakso, the Philippines’ chicken adobo, and Thailand’s mango sticky rice. It was an effective event to foster people-to-people connections, celebrating unity in diversity, and to promote as well as to strengthen ASEAN’s presence in Kenya.
