During the Holy Month of Ramadan, the High Commission in collaboration with the Malaysian Association in Sri Lanka (MASL) had conducted a charity drive for the needy and less fortunate families in Sri Lanka. A total contribution amounting to LKR99,000 was collected and it was utilised to purchase 141 packets of essential food items for distribution among Muslim families in Horagala. The contribution was presented by H.E. Azmi Zainuddin, High Commissioner of Malaysia to representatives from Masjid Al-Hudah on 30 July 2013. Mr. Izrin Hashim, President of MASL was also present at the ceremony.
