Merdeka Celebrations in Sri Lanka
The Malaysian Association in Sri Lanka (MASL), in collaboration with the High Commission of Malaysia in Sri Lanka, has organised a series of activities and events in celebration of the 56th MERDEKA in Sri Lanka. These included the ASEAN Bowling Competition, Merdeka Golf Tournament and the Malaysian National Day Celebration Dinner and Prize Giving Ceremony which was held on 7 and 14 September 2013 respectively.
The ASEAN Bowling Competition has attracted overwhelming participation following last year’s equally successful 2012 ASEAN Badminton Competition which was also held during the Malaysian National Day Celebration. The participants included friends from the ASEAN Diplomatic Missions and Communities in Sri Lanka. Special invitations were also extended to the officials from the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka. The Golf Tournament were also well-represented by the eminent persons and corporate figures in Sri Lanka.
