On 26th September, ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) met for its first Ambassadors Meeting under the Chairmanship of H.E. Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, Ambassador of Malaysia to Mexico at Rumah Malaysia. With the main agenda of ASEAN’s visibility in Mexico, the five ambassadors - Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia (represented by First Secretary as he was away on official duty) deliberated on the joint programme of work for the next 3-month namely visits to the State of Queretaro and Puebla, year end ASEAN Bazaar and charitable activities for those affected by the earthquake. The meeting also took stock of past programme namely the briefing by the Hon. Hiram Almeida, Secretary of Public Safety, Mexico City; ASEAN Day Flag Raising Ceremony at the Embassy of Malaysia and ASEAN Week at the Chamber of Deputies, Mexico.
After the meeting ended, Madam Amelia Azhar and the Ambassador took the opportunity to host a farewell lunch in honour of HE Dr. Lan Linh Le, Ambassador of Vietnam who would be leaving in October 2017. It was a good parting get-together for her in the presence of ASEAN ambassadors as well as Madam Desfira Yusra, spouse of the Indonesian Ambassador together with the officials of ACMC Technical Working Group.
