ACMC BUSINESS MISSION TO NUEVO LEON - VISIT TO PLASTIEXPORTS IN NUEVO LEÓN 23 JUNE 2025

As part of the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) business mission to Nuevo León, His Excellency Ambassador Jamal Sharifuddin Johan, Ambassador of Malaysia to Mexico, joined fellow ASEAN Heads of Mission in a visit to Plastiexports, a leading Mexican company in the field of plastic components manufacturing.
Located in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Plastiexports has established itself as a regional and global leader in the production of high-precision plastic parts. The company currently produces over 150 million plastic components annually, supplying to a wide range of industries, including household appliances, air conditioning, electrical systems, and consumer electronics.
During the visit, the delegation was welcomed by company executives and taken on a guided tour of the production facilities. The visit offered a valuable insight into the company's advanced manufacturing processes, innovative technologies, and its commitment to sustainability and quality control. Discussions also touched on potential cooperation with ASEAN markets, particularly in areas of supply chain integration, technology transfer, and investment opportunities.
Ambassador Jamal underlined the importance of fostering industrial partnerships between ASEAN and Mexico, especially in high-value sectors such as plastics manufacturing and precision engineering. The visit to Plastiexports further highlighted Nuevo León’s strategic role in Mexico’s industrial landscape and its potential for expanded collaboration with Southeast Asia.
This visit is part of a broader initiative by the ACMC to deepen economic engagement with Mexican states through direct dialogue with industry leaders, government counterparts, and chambers of commerce.
