On 28 April 2025, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ASEAN SOM Leader of Malaysia, Dato' Sri Amran Mohamed Zin, held a bilateral meeting with the SOM Leader of Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Johariah Wahab, in Kuala Lumpur.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to fostering ASEAN unity and strengthening collaboration under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025. Discussions focused on shared priorities, particularly advancing the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea and finalising preparations for the 46th ASEAN Summit scheduled for May 2025.
The meeting reflected the close ties between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam and their shared aspiration to drive a cohesive, resilient, and forward-looking ASEAN community
