In the evening of 7th December, YB Datuk Abd Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak, Datin Zuraini Abdul Jabbar and the Sarawak delegation accompanied by Madame Amelia Azhar and the Ambassador were present at the Olympic Swimming Pool Mexico City to witness the Closing Ceremony of World Para Swimming Championship 2017 hosted by Mexico City. Following the closing speech by the representative of Mayor of Mexico City and Mr. Andrew Parsons, President of the International Paralympic Committee, the Minister gave an acceptance speech for Kuching, Sarawak to host The World Para Swimming Championship 2019. Amongst others, the Minister stated it was an honour for Kuching, Sarawak and Malaysia to host the event – the first Asian city to do so and more importantly as a prelude to the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2020. Congratulations to Sarawak!
