COURTESY MEETING BY PETRONAS OFFICIALS
On 9 March, Malaysia’s National Oil & Gas company, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) met H.E. Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, Ambassador of Malaysia to Mexico at Mexico City Marriott Reforma Hotel. The PETRONAS 5-member delegation was led by Mr. Azman A. Aziz, Senior General Manager, Strategy & Commercial of Upstream Business of PETRONAS accompanied by Mr. Muzli Hussain, Senior General Manager, Exploration International Ventures of Upstream of PETRONAS; Mr. Izmir Kamarudin, Head of Business Development Americas & Australasia of Upstream of PETRONAS; Mr. Faisal Bakar, Country Head (Designate) of PC Carigali Mexico Ventures S.A. DE C.V of PETRONAS Upstream and Mr. Adam Zulkifli, Senior Geologist of PC Carigali Mexico Ventures S.A. DE C.V of PETRONAS Upstream. Also present during the meeting was Mr. Mohd. Hafiz Abdul Jalil, Trade Commissioner, MATRADE Mexico City.
During the meeting, Mr. Azman informed H.E Ambassador that on 10 March 2017 PETRONAS would be signing an agreement with the Ministry of Energy, Mexico and the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) Mexico for Mexico’s deep-water exploration for Block 4 and 5 awarded to PETRONAS last December 2016 in the Salina Basin off the Gulf of Mexico. He also briefed on PETRONAS`s plan and progress of setting up its operational office in Mexico.
