On 26 June 2020, ASEAN Embassies in Mexico, represented by the Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico (as the ASEAN Chair in Mexico for the first half of 2020) donated MXN25,000 pesos to the “Hogar Dulce Hogar” Foundation, a non-profit organization which provide a safe house for children, including home, food, clothing, education, medical and psychological care plus recreation in various ways.
The First Secretary of the Embassy, Mr. Norafizan Mustaffa donated the money on behalf of the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City Working Group (ACMC WG). The money was raised during the ASEAN Bazaar in December 2019 via the selling of raffle tickets and foods. Apart from giving our consular assistance to ASEAN nationals in Mexico and strengthening our bilateral cooperation between ASEAN and Mexico, ASEAN Embassies in Mexico are also committed in working with many non-profit organizations in Mexico for the benefits of the Mexican people.
