On 14 January 2026, H.E. Ambassador Jamal Sharifuddin Johan met with Mr. Geraldo Jimenez Aguado, Secretary of Agreements at the Mexican Ministry of Economy. The meeting provided an informal yet substantive opportunity to explore avenues for strengthening Malaysia - Mexico economic ties and identifying mechanisms to deepen institutional cooperation between Malaysia, ASEAN and the Government of Mexico.
