Malaysia Shines at the ACD Diplomatic Cultural Bazaar in Mexico City

The Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico proudly participated in the **ACD Diplomatic Cultural Bazaar**, held at the **Mayor of Miguel Hidalgo Complex**, bringing a vibrant display of **Malaysian flavours, culture, and hospitality** to the heart of Mexico City. This special event celebrated the diversity and unity of Asian nations through cultural exchange and culinary delights.
Visitors to the Malaysian booth were treated to a **true taste of Malaysia**, featuring a delightful spread of traditional favourites:
**Nasi Lemak** – Malaysia’s beloved national dish, with fragrant coconut rice, spicy sambal, crispy anchovies, and eggs
**Karipap** – crispy curry puffs filled with spiced potatoes
**Pengat Pisang** – a comforting dessert made from bananas stewed in creamy coconut milk and palm sugar
**Kuih Bakar** – a soft, pandan-infused baked custard dessert loved by all generations
The response was overwhelming! Guests lined up to try these iconic dishes, many experiencing Malaysian cuisine for the first time—and loving it! The warm smiles and positive feedback reflected Malaysia’s unique culinary appeal and the power of food in bringing cultures together.
Adding to the festive atmosphere was a beautiful **cultural performance** presented by the students of INBAL, featuring the lively and graceful **Joget Malaysia** and **Joget Cinta Sayang**. Dancers in traditional attire brought energy and joy to the stage, captivating the audience and drawing enthusiastic applause from all corners.
This event provided an invaluable opportunity to **promote Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and culinary identity** to a wider international audience, while strengthening people-to-people connections between Malaysia and the local community in Mexico.
