MALAYSIA SHOWCASES SMART CITY VISION IN MEXICO CITY

On 13 June 2025, the Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico, represented by Mr. Hardi Hamdin, participated in a dynamic networking event hosted by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) at the MATRADE office in Mexico City.
The event aimed to promote the upcoming Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur 2025, taking place from 17–19 September 2025, and to highlight MDEC’s role as Malaysia’s lead agency in driving digital transformation and smart city development.
Chaired by MDEC delegates Mr. Nizam Rosli and Ts. Tengku Azrul Tengku Azhar, the session spotlighted Malaysia’s commitment to fostering global partnerships in smart urban ecosystems, sustainable infrastructure, and inclusive digital growth.
The event brought together a wide array of stakeholders, including representatives from the Secretariat of Economy (Mexico City), the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, and Angel Ventures Capital—reflecting the growing interest in Malaysia as a hub for innovation, investment, and future-ready urban solutions.
