As some of you are aware, the so-called “heirs” and “successors-in-interest” to Sultan Sulu (“Claimants”) have initiated an international arbitration proceeding against Malaysia (“Claims”) in Madrid and Paris courts.
On this note, it is with great pleasure we wish to inform you that YB Minister of Foreign Affairs, YB Minister of Law and Institutional Reforms, and YB Minister of Communications and Digital have launched the official website of the Government of Malaysia on the Sulu claims. In essence, this website will serve as a trusted focal point for all matters related to the Claims, which include, but are not limited to, the Government’s positions, relevant legal and historical documents and outcomes of legal proceedings. This compilation should put an end to the false narratives espoused by the Claimants to date.
Additionally, given the importance of ensuring that the facts will reach out to the maximum target audience, this website will be further updated with multilingual versions (Malay, French, Spanish and Tagalog) at a later date.
