MARIACHI FESTIVAL CALIMAYA, STATE OF MEXICO
On 4 March, at the invitation of the Hon. Armando Levi Torres Aranguren, Mayor of Calimaya in State of Mexico, H.E. Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, Ambassador of Malaysia to Mexico attended the Mariachi Festival in the Municipal Hall of Calimaya town. Also present were several members of the diplomatic corps including India, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Japan, Morocco, North Korea, Philippines, Thailand and Ukraine. Mariachi is a type of traditional Mexican folk music performed by a small group of strolling musicians dressed in native costume. The mayor was gracious to host dinner after the performances.
