PRESENTATION OF LETTERS OF CREDENCE BY

PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES
His Excellency Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the United Mexican States presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Enrique Peña Nieto, President of the United Mexican States on Wednesday, 11 May 2016. The Ambassador is the eight Malaysian Ambassador to Mexico to represent Malaysia since the formalization of relations between Malaysia and Mexico fourty two years ago.
During the Ceremony at the National Palace, the Ambassador was accompanied by Madame Amelia Azhar, Mr. Khornelisman Jasri, Second Secretary and Mr. Mohd. Hafiz Abdul Jalil, Trade Commissioner of the Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico.
The state of bilateral relations between Malaysia and Mexico has been excellent. Mexico is Malaysia`s strategic partner in the Central American region. Mexico is Malaysia`s largest trading partner and also Malaysia`s largest export destination as well as the largest import source in the region. In 2015, Malaysia`s exports to Mexico amounted to USD1.59 billion, while Malaysia`s imports from Mexico amounted to USD383.1 million registering a total trade of USD1.97 billion.
