TYT Ambassador Muzafar Shah Mustafa, concurrent Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of El Salvador presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Salvador Sánchez Cerén, President of the Republic of El Salvador on Tuesday, 20 October 2018. TYT Ambassador was the fifth concurrent ambassador to be received by the President according to the order of precedence based on the date of arrival in the accredited countries. Six (6) other concurrent Ambassadors also presented their Letters of Credence to the President at the ceremony held in the Presidential House in San Salvador, El Salvador.
After presenting the Letter of Credence, TYT Ambassador was also given the opportunity to have short exchanges with the President during which TYT Ambassador conveyed the greetings from SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong and YAB Prime Minister to the President. He further noted the cordial state of bilateral relations between Malaysia and El Salvador, expressing hope that the partnership would be further strengthened during his tenure as the concurrent Ambassador to El Salvador.
The President congratulated TYT Ambassador on his appointment as the concurrent Malaysian Ambassador to El Salvador and concurred that Malaysia and El Salvador needed to foster closer ties in our bilateral dealings for the benefits of both countries. Before the ceremony ended, all the concurrent Ambassadors were gathered for a photo session with President Salvador Sánchez Cerén and the Foreign Minister of the Republic of El Salvador.
The whole ceremony lasted for about 30 minutes, in which after that all the concurrent Ambassadors and their delegations were ushered back to the van before departing for a commercial presentation at the International Centre of Fairs and Conventions of El Salvador (CIFCO).
TYT Ambassador also took the opportunity to make a courtesy call on the Foreign Minister of the Republic of El Salvador, His Excellency Carlos Castaneda. The meeting was held at the Foreign Minister´s office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador. Various issues were raised particularly on the potential bilateral cooperation between the two countries as well as on the regional cooperation between ASEAN and the three Central American countries (El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala).
TYT Ambassador also had a discussion with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of El Salvador, Mr. Javier Steiner to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration and cooperation between Malaysian companies and El Salvadoran companies in the future. One of the topics that was discussed was on the potential of Halal industry in El Salvador.
