On 3 August 2021, TYT Ambassador Muzafar Shah Mustafa presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Alejandro Giammattei Falla, President of the Republic of Guatemala at the National Palace of Culture of Guatemala, Guatemala City. TYT Ambassador was accompanied by Encik Khaifil Elmi Jamil, Counsellor (Trade) from MATRADE Office in Mexico City and Encik Norafizan Mustaffa, First Secretary of MW Mexico.
During the ceremony, the President also received 5 other Ambassadors-designate on the same occasion, two of whom are resident while the other three are non-resident Ambassadors. They are: His Excellency Vladimir Nikolaevich Vinokurov (Russian Federation), His Excellency Ricarda Redeker (Federal Republic of Germany), His Excellency Tatjana Conic (Republic of Serbia), His Excellency Alireza Ghezili (Islamic Republic of Iran) and His Excellency Aman Rashid (Islamic Republic of Pakistan).
During a brief conversation after presenting the credential letters to the President,The Ambassador conveyed the greetings of SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong and YAB Prime Minister. While noting the excellent cordial state of bilateral relations between Malaysia and Guatemala, TYT Ambassador has expressed Malaysian Government desire to further strengthen the bond of friendship and cooperation between the two countries especially in economic aspect. The President also expressed similar sentiment and welcomed Malaysia`s interest to foster closer ties with Guatemala for the mutual benefits of both countries. TYT Ambassador also took the opportunity in congratulating the President for his leadership in tackling the Covid-19 as Guatemala has been recognized as one of the most successful central American nations in handling the pandemic to which he acknowledged with appreciation.
