ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION WITH SECRETARY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (SEDE) QUINTANA ROO

His Excellency Amb. Jamal Sharifuddin Johan participated in the roundtable discussion with Secretary of Economic Development of Quintana Roo, Karla Almanza López.
The roundtable discussion was part of the activities scheduled during the ASEAN Community in Mexico City (ACMC) Working Visit to the State of Quintana Roo, 1-4 April 2024.
Secretary Karla Lopez highlighted that there are opportunities for economic diversification, among others, in the areas of technology, agroindustry, energy and health. She further outlined the interest of the state to diversify its economy and not rely on tourism as the main source of income. She further mentioned that Quintana Roo has a lot to offer in terms of export products such as aquaculture and fisheries, agricultural products and honey.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico City is looking forward to working together with the state of Quintana Roo in strengthening the trade and investment between Malaysia and Mexico.
