Strengthening ASEAN-Mexico Relations

The Heads of Mission of the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) had the honor of meeting with H.E. María Teresa Mercado Pérez, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico. As Chairman of ACMC, H.E. Jamal Sharifuddin bin Johan delivered a speech highlighting ASEAN’s regional priorities and Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair in 2025.
During the meeting, ACMC reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing political, economic, and cultural ties between ASEAN and Mexico, emphasising the shared opportunities across the Pacific.
We look forward to H.E. Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, visiting Malaysia in July 2025 for the signing of TAC during ASEAN Ministerial Meeting (AMM) and Post Ministerial Conferences (PMC), further strengthening Mexico’s engagement with ASEAN.
