Members of the Working Group of ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) recently held a productive meeting with Ms. Cristal Pelayo, Director General of International Affairs, Chamber of Deputies. The discussion began with an insightful briefing on ASEAN delivered by Mr. Hardi Hamdin, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Malaysia. Malaysia is the current chair of ACMC for the first half of 2025.
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the discussion on the upcoming ASEAN Cultural Week, scheduled to take place at the Chamber of Deputies in the third week of April. Both parties expressed enthusiasm for the event, which aims to showcase the rich cultural diversity, heritage, and traditions of ASEAN member states to the Mexican public and policymakers.
Both ACMC WG and the Chamber of Deputies agreed to stay in close coordination to ensure the successful execution of this meaningful initiative. This collaboration marks another step forward in strengthening ASEAN-Mexico relations through cultural diplomacy.
