Strengthening Malaysia–Vietnam Relations Through a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

===============================================

The Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico City proudly shares the latest development in Malaysia’s bilateral relations with Vietnam, marked by a renewed commitment to deepen and expand cooperation through the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP).

During a joint press conference with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who is on an official visit to Malaysia, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the strong and enduring ties between the two nations. The elevation of bilateral relations to a CSP—formally announced in November 2024—signals a new chapter of collaboration in areas that are critical to both countries' sustainable development and shared prosperity.

Key sectors of enhanced cooperation include:

Modern agriculture and food security

Education and human capital development

Science, technology, and innovation

Cybersecurity and digital transformation

Financial services and investment

Sustainable energy transition and green economy

This visit is especially significant as it coincides with the 46th ASEAN Summit, where both Malaysia and Vietnam reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ASEAN’s role and collective voice on regional and global matters.

As two active members of ASEAN, Malaysia and Vietnam share a common vision for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Southeast Asia, and continue to work together to advance regional integration and address common challenges.

The Embassy applauds this important step forward and looks forward to further promoting the spirit of cooperation, unity, and shared growth between Malaysia and Vietnam—both bilaterally and within the broader ASEAN framework.
