THE INAUGURATION OF MEXICO-MALAYSIA FRIENDSHIP GROUP OF THE MEXICAN CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES THE LXIII LEGISLATURE

On 13 September 2016, H.E. Ambassador Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, Ambassador of Malaysia to Mexico together with Lic. Martínez Sánchez Luis de León, President of the Mexico-Malaysia Friendship Group officiated the 3^rd Mexico-Malaysia Friendship Group of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies of the LXII Legislature at the Chamber of Deputies in Mexico City.  The group has been tasked to promote inter parliamentary dialogue and information exchange for greater cooperation and understanding between Malaysia and Mexico.

Present during the ceremony were members of the Group, as follows:

         i.              Martínez Sánchez Luis de León, President, Partido Acción Nacional (PAN)

        Oaxaca;

ii.            Aguilar Robles David, Vice President, Partido Revolucionario Institucional

        (PRI)-Oaxaca;

iii.           García Escobar Lilia Arminda, Vice President, PAN-Puebla;

iv.           Soto González Cecilia Guadalupe, Vice President, Partido de la  

        Revolución Democrática (PRD)-Distrito Federal;

v.            Barraza López José Teodoro, Member, PAN-Baja California

vi.          Cuata Domínguez Blanca Margarita, Member, El Movimiento

        Regeneración Nacional (MORENA)-Morelos;

vii.        García Navarro Otniel, Member, PRI-Durango;

viii.       Gaxiola Lezama Jorgina, Member, Partido Verde Ecologista de México

        (PVEM)-State of Mexico; and

ix.          Sánchez Coronel Cristina, Member, PRI-State of Mexico.

The ceremony started with the speech by Lic. Martinez followed by representative from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Mr. Vladimir Vazquez Hernandez, Deputy Director General for the Korean Peninsula, India and Transpacific Cooperation Mechanisms; and the Ambassador. In his remarks, the Ambassador stated the importance of Mexico to Malaysia and vice-versa.

The Ambassador and Lic. Martinez as well as members of the group signed the Document of Incorporation. The Ambassador then toured the Chamber of Deputies where he was taken to the Session Hall and was greeted by the presiding speaker in the presence of most of the 500-member of Parliament of Mexico.
