On 20 September 2016, H.E. Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, Ambassador of Malaysia to Mexico was given the honour as the inaugural speaker at the first-ever Internationalization Programme organized by the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla (UPAEP). Present during the opening ceremony and the talks were 180 university and high school students along with faculty members, The Ambassador commended the UPAEP for its initiative toward having a learned university community with global perspective. Prior to the presentation, Mtro. Emilio José Baños Ardavín, Rector of UPAEP and his officials were on hand to receive the Ambassador at the University Linkage Centre, UPAEP.
In his presentation entitled “Malaysia-Mexico - Culture and Business Approach,” the Ambassador edified the audience about Malaysia and its development in various fields, particularly trade and investment as well as social and educational progress. The Ambassador also touched on the state of bilateral relations between Malaysia and Mexico and the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA). As part of its on-going internationalization programme, the UPAEP would be sending its top student in gastronomy to The Taylor’s University in Malaysia for a year programme.
