WEBINAR: ACCESSING THE MEXICO MARKET THROUGH TRADE AGREEMENTS

The Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico, in collaboration with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), successfully hosted a joint webinar on "Accessing the Mexico Market through Trade Agreements." This initiative aimed to provide Malaysian businesses with valuable insights into leveraging trade agreements to expand their footprint in Mexico and strengthen bilateral trade relations.
In his opening remarks, H.E. Ambassador Jamal Sharifuddin Johan emphasised Malaysia’s commitment to deepening economic engagement with Mexico, underscoring the importance of trade agreements in facilitating market access. He highlighted the potential for Malaysian exporters to capitalise on Mexico’s strategic position in global trade, mainly through its membership in key trade blocs such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
Malaysia and Mexico share a robust and growing trade partnership, with bilateral trade reaching significant levels in recent years. Mexico remains one of Malaysia’s top trading partners in Latin America, offering vast opportunities in sectors such as manufacturing, electronics, automotive and renewable energy. By leveraging trade agreements, businesses from both nations can enhance market access, reduce trade barriers, and foster stronger commercial ties.
