The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) participated in the 2nd Joint Review Committee (JRC) on Malaysia-Pakistan Cooperation in Economic and Partnership Agreement (MPCEPA) from 25 – 26 February 2014. The first meeting was held in 2011. The JRC is part of the mechanism for revising the free trade agreement signed by both sides in 2007. Malaysian side was led by En. Mohamed Shahabar Abdul Kareem, Senior Director at MITI. The objective was to revise the customs duty of some products from both sides to zero duty and to get further discount on our palm oil to at least 25% from the current 15%.
