The 2nd session of Council Commerce Ministers of D-8 countries was held in Islamabad on 17 February, 2016. Members of D-8 include Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Eqypt and Nigeria. Malaysia was represented by His Excellency Dato’ Dr. Hasrul Sani Bin Mujatabar, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, as the Malaysian Trade Minister, Hon. Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed was away to attend the ASEAN-US Summit in California. In that meeting, the D-8 countries agreed to implement the D8 Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) from 1 July, 2016. The next meeting will be held in Malaysia in 2017.
