On Wednesday, 6 May 2026, H.E. Amb. Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, attended the 6th International Paigham-e-Islam Conference held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad. The conference was jointly organised by the International Tazeem-i-Haramain Sharifain Council and the Pakistan Ulema Council.
The conference brought together prominent religious scholars, political leaders, the Ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and Palestine, as well as representatives from various Muslim countries to promote peace, interfaith harmony, and unity within the Muslim Ummah.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gillani, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, senior Saudi and Palestinian representatives, Grand Mufti of Palestine Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, Chief Justice of Palestine Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, as well as a large number of religious scholars and delegates from Pakistan and abroad.
The conference emphasised the importance of promoting the true message of Islam based on peace, moderation, tolerance, coexistence, and mutual respect among nations and religions. Speakers highlighted the need to strengthen unity among Muslim countries and enhance interfaith dialogue in the face of growing global polarisation and regional instability.
During the proceedings, several national and international personalities were honoured for their contributions towards peace, stability, and Muslim unity. The conference conferred the titles of “Leader of Peace” and “Greatest Victorious General of the Century” upon Syed Asim Munir in recognition of his role in promoting peace and strengthening stability across the Muslim world.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was also presented with a shield of appreciation for his stance on international issues, particularly Palestine, while Mohammed bin Salman was recognised as the “Global Personality of 2025” for his role in promoting peace, defence cooperation, and unity within the Muslim Ummah.
