On Wednesday, 27 March 2024, Ambassador Azhar attended the Annual interfaith iftar dinner hosted by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for the Islamabad-based diplomatic corps at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
During the event, Minister Dar expressed his appreciation to the contributions of the diplomatic corps in fostering dialogue and cooperation between their respective nations and Pakistan. He added that Pakistan’s foreign policy is deeply rooted in the principles of peace, equality, and justice. Pakistan will continue to champion multilateralism, peace, development and mutual prosperity.
In his address at the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the nation and its people. He underscored that Pakistan is a peace-loving nation and desires peaceful relations with all countries.
During his engagement with the two leaders, Ambassador Azhar took the opportunity to congratulate Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on their appointment as Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, respectively.
