APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL LETTER TO RETURN TO MALAYSIA EFFECTIVE 24 JULY 2020

GENERAL PROCESS FOR THE APPLICATION OF APPROVAL LETTER TO RETURN TO MALAYSIA 

The following is only applicable for those arriving in Malaysia effective 24 July 2020. 

1) The applicant may download the Letter of Undertaking (LoU)/ Surat Aku Janji through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

2) The applicant is required to fill up the LoU, and e-mail the scanned copy of the document and copy of their passport to islamabad@imi.gov.my 

3 a) If the applicant agrees to bear the quarantine cost, an Approval Letter will be issued via e-mail to the applicant, within three (3) working days.

   b) If the applicant disagrees to bear the quarantine cost, an Approval Letter will not be issued to the applicant. Applicant who disagrees to bear the quarantine cost but insist to return to Malaysia may face legal action under Act 342.

4) Applicant may board the flight to Malaysia. Kindly present the hardcopy of LoU and copy of Approval to officers on duty upon arrival in KLIA and at quarantine centres.
