On Tuesday, 29 October 2024, Ambassador Dato' Azhar attended the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) meeting chaired by His Excellency Colonel (Retd) Pengiran Haji Kamal Bashah Bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam/ Chair of the ACI at the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam. The meeting was attended by Heads of Mission/Charge' d'Affaires from Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Also present were officials from the ACI working group.
In his opening remarks, Colonel (Retd) Pengiran Haji Kamal welcomed the ASEAN Heads of Mission. During the meeting, the Minutes of the ACI HOM Meeting No. 06/2024 were reviewed and approved. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming official as well as social activities of ASEAN Missions which include the proposed visit to ACI Economic Visit to Gujrat Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry, dinner invitation from Farah Rani at Best Western Hotel, the symposium on Climate Change to be hosted by High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) and 12th International Exhibition Seminar (IDEAS-2024) at Karachi Expo Centre scheduled to take place during the month of November 2024.
