On Wednesday, 20 November 2024, Ambassador Dato' Azhar attended the Awareness and Outreach Programme: Desert Rally & Cultural Festival - 2025, hosted by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) at Islamabad Serena Hotel. The event showcased the upcoming Cholistan Desert Rally 2025, South Asia’s largest motorsports event, and the cultural heritage of Punjab, aiming to attract international participants and promote tourism in southern Punjab.
The Cholistan Desert Rally, an annual event held in the Bahawalpur region, is scheduled for 6–9 February 2025. Open to national and international participants, it promises adventure and excitement in the stunning Cholistan Desert.
Ambassador Azhar congratulated TDCP for organizing the programme and highlighted its importance in promoting southern Punjab’s tourism potential. He encouraged international promotion of the event and praised it as a great initiative for showcasing Punjab’s culture and adventure tourism.
