On 23 January 2024, Ambassador Azhar joined other Heads of Malaysian Missions abroad for a briefing on "Malaysia's Palm Oil Landscape" by the CEO of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council, Ms. Belvinder Kaur Sron.
During the session, Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) shared the latest status and statistics of Malaysian Palm Oil trade worldwide. Globally, Malaysia is the second-largest producer of palm oil, accounting for 23% of international trade and responsible for 10% of Pakistan's annual consumption. Additionally, issues and the way forward on palm oil were also discussed between the participating Heads of Missions and MPOB.
