On 21 May 2025, Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus, Deputy Head of Mission received a courtesy call from Mr. Muhammad Khurram Awan, General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Karachi, at the High Commission.
During the meeting, Mr. Khurram provided an overview of the facilities and advanced security systems in place at Mövenpick Hotel Karachi, highlighting the hotel’s commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for international guests, including Malaysian nationals.
Both parties also exchanged views on the tourism and hospitality industries in Malaysia and Pakistan. They discussed opportunities for strengthening bilateral tourism ties, increasing people-to-people connectivity, and promoting mutual understanding through cultural and travel exchanges.
Mr. Syafik expressed appreciation for the hotel’s efforts in ensuring the comfort and safety of its guests, and conveyed the High Commission’s interest in fostering closer collaboration with key hospitality partners in Pakistan to support the growing number of Malaysian travelers visiting the country.
The meeting reflects the shared commitment of both sides to enhancing cooperation in the tourism sector and supporting the broader Malaysia–Pakistan relationship.
