On Thursday, 23 January 2025, His Excellency Ambassador Dato' Azhar Mazlan received a courtesy call from a five-member UiTM delegation led by Professor Datuk Ts Dr. Shahrin Bin Sahib, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) at the High Commission. Mr. Khairul Amri bin Kamarudin, First Secretary of the High Commission was also present in the meeting. The delegation was on an Official Visit to Islamabad to attend the COMSTECH Consortium of Excellence Annual Meeting and 5th Rector’s Conference 2025 from 22 to 26 January 2025.
During the call, Professor Datuk Ts Dr. Shahrin briefed Ambassador Dato' Azhar on the long-standing cooperation between UiTM and COMSTECH in the field of student exchange programme, expert sharing and future cooperation between the two higher educational institutions. In his response, Ambassador Dato' Azhar expressed his gratitude and congratulated the Malaysian delegation on their successful engagements with COMSTECH. The Ambassador hoped for more such cooperation between Malaysian institutions of higher learning and Pakistani universities and higher education centres. Currently, there are 30 Pakistani students pursuing their post-graduate study at the UiTM. It was estimated that around 100 alumnus of UiTM are from Pakistan.
