On Monday, 2 December 2024, His Excellency Ambassador Dato' Azhar Mazlan received a courtesy call from a three-member delegation led by Datuk Saidatul Akhma Binti Hassan, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, Malaysia. The meeting took place at the High Commission of Malaysia, with Mr. Muhammad Zulasri Bin Rosdi, First Secretary of the High Commission, also in attendance.
During the discussion, Datuk Saidatul Akhma apprised the Ambassador of the delegation’s participation in the 29th Eastern Regional Organisation for Planning & Settlements (EAROPH) World Congress, held from 1 to 4 December 2024. The meeting also explored potential avenues for collaboration between Malaysia and Pakistan in areas such as urban planning, sustainable housing, and smart city development.
Both sides recognized the importance of knowledge-sharing and capacity-building to address shared challenges such as rapid urbanization, affordable housing, and climate-resilient infrastructure. Ambassador Dato' Azhar emphasized the value of strengthening bilateral cooperation through joint initiatives, training programs, and technical exchanges under EAROPH’s framework. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing optimism about future engagements to advance sustainable urban growth in the region.
