COURTESY CALL ON HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR DATO' AZHAR MAZLAN BY THE COMMANDER OF THE 2ND INFANTRY DIVISION, MALAYSIA

On Thursday, 14 November 2024, Ambassador Dato' Azhar Mazlan received a courtesy call from a three-member delegation led by Maj Gen Dato' Hj Fazal Bin Hj Abdul Rahman, Commander of the 2nd Infantry Division, Malaysia at the High Commission. Also present at the meeting were Mr. Muhammad Zulasri Bin Rosdi, First Secretary, and Col. Noraripin Bin Othman, Defence Adviser of the High Commission.

The purpose of the meeting was to brief the High Commissioner on the outcome of the second edition of the Malaysia-Pakistan Joint Military Exercise, Harimau Markhor II, and to invite His Excellency to attend the closing ceremony scheduled for the following day.

The two-week exercise, which ran from 4 to 15 November 2024, was held at the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi, Pakistan. A total of over 20 Malaysian military personnel participated in the training, which focused on mountain warfare and counter-terrorism.

Both sides also discussed ongoing military cooperation between Malaysia and Pakistan and updated the High Commissioner on the Malaysian delegation's participation in the 12th International Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024, scheduled to take place at the Karachi Expo Centre from 19 to 22 November 2024.
