On Wednesday, 6 November 2024, Ambassador Dato' Azhar received a courtesy call from a five-member delegation led by Ms. Siti Nor Sahidah Mohit, Head of Communication and Fundraising at MERCY Malaysia, at the High Commission. Mr. Muhammad Zulasri bin Rosdi, First Secretary of the High Commission, was also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, Ms. Sahidah briefed the Ambassador on MERCY Malaysia’s completed projects in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She informed the Ambassador that, with cooperation and funding from PETRONAS, a basic health unit was established in D.I. Khan and subsequently handed over to the local authorities. Additionally, a water plant was installed to serve a population of 10,000 people, and the washrooms in three schools were repaired.
On this occasion, Ambassador Dato’ Azhar commended MERCY Malaysia for its welfare activities in Pakistan and assured the High Commission's full cooperation and support for the organization’s future projects in the country.
