COURTESY CALL ON THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN BY THE CHAIRMAN OF MEDIA PRIMA MALAYSIA IN ISLAMABAD ON 20 FEBRUARY 2009
On Friday, 20 February, 2009 at 12:00 p.m., YBHG. DATO? ABDUL MUTALIB RAZAK, Chairman of MEDIA PRIMA Berhad, Malaysia and once again accompanied by HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN ABD SAMAD, High Commissioner of Malaysia, met with HIS EXCELLENCY SYED YOUSAF RAZA GILLANI, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan at the Prime Minister?s Secretariat in Islamabad. Besides the Minister of information and senior officials of the Government of Pakistan, others who were present were ENCIK BUKHARI CHE MUDA, CEO of TV9, CIK AZMAH DAHARI, Reporter-News and CIK SHARIFAH NUR ADIBAH, Executive Corporate Finance of MEDIA PRIMA.
During the meeting, there were exchanges of views on several issues, such as media collaboration with some MOUs signed with private sectors, infrastructures development, in particular housing, roads, Light and Mass Transit Rail Systems, free trade agreement, private sector initiatives, agriculture produce and agro-related products, palm oil credit facilities worth USD 100 million for Pakistan, TOURISM event of ?Malaysia Truly Asia Week? in Pakistan on 16-25 May 2009 and also the proposition of twining Lahore ? Malacca as cultural and historical cities.
At the end of the courtesy call, YBHG. DATO? MUTALIB presented gifts, while AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN took the opportunity to extend on behalf of Y.A.B. Perdana Menteri Malaysia to PRIME MINISTER GILLANI for an official visit to Malaysia in the near future.
