On 10 July 2025, Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus, Deputy Head of Mission, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of Pakistan Observer in Islamabad. During the visit, he held a meeting with Mr. Gauhar Zahid Malik, President of Pakistan Observer. Mr. Abdullah Gauhar Malik, Digital Editor and Team Lead, was also present on the occasion.
The meeting provided an opportunity for a meaningful exchange of views on the pivotal role of media in contemporary society. Mr. Syafik underscored the critical responsibility of the media to inform the public with accuracy, and to uphold the highest standards of journalistic ethics and integrity. He also emphasized the need for responsible reporting in an increasingly interconnected world.
Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed the importance of independent and impartial journalism in promoting mutual understanding and strengthening ties between communities and nations. Mr. Syafik conveyed his appreciation for Pakistan Observer’s longstanding commitment to fair and objective reporting, particularly its efforts in advancing narratives that contribute to the unity and strength of the Muslim Ummah.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both parties expressing optimism for future engagements and joint initiatives in the field of journalism and media development.
