On Tuesday, 5 September 2023, Ambassador Azhar visited University of Lahore. Mr. Awais Raoof, Chairman of University of Lahore received the High Commissioner at his office. During their meeting, both sides discussed on education sector between Malaysia and Pakistan. The Chairman shared the details about the university with the High Commissioner.
Mr. Awais Raoof apprised the High Commissioner that University of Lahore is the largest private university in Pakistan with more than 40,000 students. Established in 1999, the university has been offering courses in the fields of Medicine & Dentistry, Engineering, Arts, Sciences and Social Sciences. Focussing on balanced progress and human capital development, the university has grown to 11 faculties and 45 departments. The university has earned international recognition, placing it amongst the top three in Pakistan according to QS Asia World University Rankings 2022.
In his remarks, Ambassador Azhar thanked the Chairman for his warm welcome and commended the services of the university in the field of education. The High Commissioner suggested a joint collaboration with Albukhary International University of Malaysia. He stated that Albukhary University is a private non-profit education institution, a fully residential campus with state-of-the-art facilities. The university has an excellent CSR program, providing assistance to the needy students not only for Malaysians but also for international students.
